Behind the Curtain
He was the first, trapped as a passenger on his own wheel. Enslaved to the pattern he had known his whole life. Until the truth was laid bare to him. In that moment, he saw his chains and was the first to truly break free. With blades of light and dark, he cleaved the illusion holding him. Hope and despair became sword and shield to him, ever changing and never stagnant. Curator, Historian, and Director. He is all of these but wears none of them. He conducts the endless symphony and grants power to the powerless. His two hands serve his purpose and to those with a purpose themselves, he gladly shares the stage.

This moment hung, like an actor waiting for its cue. He looked over the chaos, soaking in every face and the journey that had made this moment. He turned to his agents and stated. “From this Superliterary state, do you guys see any pieces missing?” They raised their hands but he ignored them for now. “This moment is where we want to lead, but it is missing some brushstrokes. That said, this is the implication we open up when we even discuss the concept of dimensional bleed. A good precedent for why it should be avoided, but a horrific mess that sends itself right to Ul Finito. No one wants a story that literally throws itself away.” He thought a bit and restated, “Actually there is an audience for everything. Now I have this particular situation under control. Just be aware that should anyone else come to conduct, recklessness will lead to implications or irreparable logic. When that happens, your job will become safe isolation and disposal of the event.”
When he saw a hand raised he pointed to them and the man asked in a measured tone, “We just always go right to disposal?”
“Excellent Question, Gold. No. If at all possible we visit the events leading up to the damage and improve on them. Now this particular event is one I allowed to happen on my watch. A hybrid event of a Category 3, 5, and 9 all synchronized. The finale of this little bleed will create a complex little crossroad of themes and settings that will inspire adaptation, evolution, and growth in all the characters involved. Two threats too big for just the ones involved and one risk taken in good faith. That said, I’m going to be counting on each of you to-“
He stopped for a moment and shook his head, “Too much too soon. I’m sorry for this, everyone. I jumped to the climax without the context. That was my mistake. No wonder it feels so bare bones right now. But don’t worry. When the time is right you will get all the details. Still, I want to say this. The stories you see are not my ‘doing’. In the sea of the infinite, these stories are inevitable. And while the set pieces can get out of hand, I am here for the people. The people going through these improbable or even impossible events are still people. My Weavers as well. And, like it or not, even the most outlandish of personalities exist. From people so angsty they have to wear chain mail to not cut themselves on the edge to the blindly idealistic hero who willing puts their head in the death trap because they were asked nicely. From villains who believe death is salvation up to those that rob a liquor store at gunpoint for the money to buy liquor at the store. So if you have opinions, share them. If you have passion, communicate it. But more than anything, if you think you could direct this affair better, then I encourage your input and attempts. That all having been said, I do need to get back to work. Please, enjoy your visit to En Perpetua.”
